Ian Ausprey
Ian Ausprey is an avian ecologist with field experience studying birds throughout the Western Hemisphere. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Florida where he studied the response of cloud forest bird communities to habitat loss and fragmentation along interacting elevational and agricultural disturbance gradients in the Andes of northern Peru. This work involved living for two years with rural campesino communities and training local students in field ornithological techniques. He is now a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bern in Switzerland where he studies the response of montane birds to climate and land use change.
